{"id":1812,"date":"2014-07-05T16:30:06","date_gmt":"2014-07-05T20:30:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.graymanwrites.com\/blog\/?p=1812"},"modified":"2014-07-05T16:30:06","modified_gmt":"2014-07-05T20:30:06","slug":"next-weekend-ill-be-at-congregate-a-new-convention-in-winston-salem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grayrinehart.com\/blog\/next-weekend-ill-be-at-congregate-a-new-convention-in-winston-salem\/","title":{"rendered":"Next Weekend I&#8217;ll Be at ConGregate, a New Convention in Winston-Salem!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A week from today I&#8217;ll be at the inaugural &#8212; yes, the first-ever! &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.con-gregate.com\/\">ConGregate<\/a> science fiction and fantasy convention.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/con-gregate.com\/images\/Gregnoglassforweb.jpg\" \/><br \/>\n<em>(Greg-8, the ConGregate mascot.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>ConGregate has been put together by a wonderful team of experienced and talented convention organizers, so I anticipate it will start out as one of the best conventions going. I&#8217;ll actually be there all weekend and will be busy with a number of events, including a <strong>solo concert<\/strong> on Sunday morning where <strong>I will debut at least one new song: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Friday:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8:00 p.m. &#8212; &#8220;Beyond the First Draft&#8221; workshop<\/li>\n<li>9:00 p.m. &#8212; Filk Collective<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Saturday:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2:00 p.m. &#8212; &#8220;Ask the Military&#8221; panel<\/li>\n<li>3:00 p.m. &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baen.com\/\">Baen Books<\/a> Traveling Road Show<\/li>\n<li>8:00 p.m. &#8212; &#8220;Beyond the Evil Goddess\/God&#8221; panel<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sunday:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>9:00 a.m. &#8212; Non-Denominational Prayer Service<\/li>\n<li>10:00 a.m. &#8212; CONCERT<\/li>\n<li>1:00 p.m. &#8212; &#8220;Managing Your Finances as a Writer&#8221; panel<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As usual, I will have copies of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cdbaby.com\/cd\/grayrinehart\">Truths and Lies and Make-Believe<\/a> as well as &#8220;Another Romulan Ale&#8221; bumper stickers.
